Memory Aid

1. After welcoming a new bird, it is essential to give it time to adapt to its new environment for a period of 2 to 3 days, limiting handling.

2. Weighing your bird regularly can benefit its health.

3. Food should be offered as desired.

4. The water should be changed twice a day.

5. Once properly acclimated and at an appropriate age, birds should be given a bath or shower once a month.

6. Birds need 12 hours of sleep per night.

7. The claws must be maintained every 2 to 3 months.

8. Negative discipline methods can affect the bond of trust with the bird.

9. Toys are essential to their development, an assortment of toys is recommended.

10. Every bird should have access to a different variety of perches.

11. The cage should be protected from drafts.

12. Diet plays a very important role in the health and longevity of birds. A diet consisting only of seeds will inevitably cause nutritional deficiencies.
